2 women among 4 drug suppliers held

Shillong, June 10: Four drug suppliers, including two women, were arrested by Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) personnel along with heroin-mixed soaps in the city on Monday night.

From their possession, 62 soap boxes filled with heroin were recovered, ANTF SP Jagpal Singh Dhanoa said on Tuesday.

A raid was conducted based on specific information received at 9.30 pm on Monday that a drug peddler, Jeremy Dkhar, was going to buy drugs from a supplier, Lamtinkhup Vaiphei, at Lapalang, the SP said.

The ANTF team spotted Jeremy roaming around at Dong Nongpdeng, Nongrah and detained him. Jeremy led the team to one Thangboi Khaute staying next to his house where he had concealed the contraband.

Total 62 soap boxes filled with heroin with net weight of 691.54 grams were recovered and four persons were arrested, the SP said.
