5 Bangladeshi infiltrators held in Meghalaya

Shillong, Jan 22: The BSF Meghalaya apprehended five Bangladeshi smugglers and thwarted various smuggling attempts along the international border .

On Monday, troops of BSF Meghalaya Frontier caught five Bangladeshi nationals during an operation launched in South Garo Hills.

In addition, several other operations were carried out in East Khasi Hills and West Khasi Hills during which a substantial haul of illegal goods was intercepted. The seized items included cattle, sugar, blankets, cumin zeera, liquor, and other contraband items estimated at Rs 13.54 lakh.

The confiscated goods have been handed over to the relevant Customs offices and police stations for further investigation and legal action.
