Jowai, Sep 20: Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar has assured to provide 50 laptops to the teaching faculty of Kiang Nangbah Government College, one of the premier educational institutions of Jaintia Hills.

Announcing this while attending the 59th Foundation Day of the college on Saturday, Dhar said the laptops will be provided by the end of October 2025.

Dhar also said a Detailed Project Report (DPR) worth ₹25 crore is being prepared for improvement and beautification of the college. Earlier in the day, he inaugurated the beautification works and a new two-wheeler parking space on the campus.

The college currently has 3,126 students across 15 departments.

Addressing the occasion, Principal Dr LM Darnei highlighted the institution’s growth over the years, crediting the dedication of its faculty and staff.

The celebration also witnessed the felicitation of NEHU rank holders from the college, long-serving non-teaching staff members with over 25 years of service, and past pupils who have earned their PhDs.
