City police crackdown on anti-social activities

Shillong, Sept 9: Continuing its drive against illegal and anti-social activities in the city, East Khasi Hills district police conducted a series of raids on Saturday night covering areas from Sadar, Polo, Urkaliar, Laitumkrah, Madanrting and Mawblei.

During the exercise, around 50 litres of IMFL was seized along with over 200 litres of illicit country made liquor.

Persons creating public nuisance such as playing loud music inside parked cars, soliciting in public places, drunken driving, etc., were acted upon to deter such activities, according to police sources.

Sustained crackdown on such illicit activities will be conducted towards ensuring a safer, secure and peaceful Shillong city, the sources said.
