BSF foils bid to smuggle apples

Shillong, Oct 20: Apples loaded in two vehicles for smuggling into Bangladesh were seized by the BSF near the international border at Pyrdwah in East Khasi Hills district.

Forty boxes containing apples were found inside an Alto car and a Maruti Omni van which were intercepted by the BSF on Dawki –Lynkhat on Thursday.

Drivers of the two vehicles were arrested and the items and persons were handed over to Customs Pynursla.
