Tura, October 29: On the day of commencement of Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls 2025 as announced by the Election Commission of India, New Delhi with 01-01-2025 as the qualifying date, the Draft Electoral Rolls both in hard and soft copy for 11 Assembly Constituencies falling under West Garo Hills was handed over to different political parties DRDA Conference Hall, Deputy Commissioner’s Office premises in Tura.
It may be mentioned that the purpose is to prepare accurate rolls inclusive of all eligible persons as electors. Moreover, as per the schedule of the Election Commission of India, claims and objections can be filed from October 29 to November 28 at the respective polling stations where Booth Level Officers (BLO) are already in place.
Further, as per the draft electoral roll the total number of electorates for 11 Assembly Constituencies is 379024 with 189287 males and 189736 females and 1 transgender and 547 polling stations.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner (In-charge Election), West Garo Hills district Nippon Hajong, Additional Deputy Commissioners’ Rojalinda D Shira, Mary Liza Marak and others including representatives of Political parties were present during the function.
Notice of draft publication of photo electoral rolls
The Draft Photo Electoral Rolls for Dadenggre Civil Sub-Division and West Garo Hills has been prepared.
Announcing this, the Sub-Divisional Officer (Election), Dadenggre Civil Sub-Division on Tuesday said the Draft Photo Electoral Rolls has been prepared in accordance with the Registration of Electoral Rules, 1960 for Raksamgre, Tikkrikilla and Dadenggre Assembly Constituencies under Dadenggre Sub-Division and a copy is made available for inspection at the office of the Sub-Divisional office (Election) and at each polling station during office hours.
The qualifying date for the preparation of the photo electoral roll is January 1, 2025.
If, with reference to the above said qualifying date, there be any claim for the inclusion of a name in the photo electoral roll or any objections to the inclusion of names or any objections to particulars in any entries, it should be lodged between the period of October 29 to November 28 in form 6, 7 and 8 as may be appropriate.
Every such claim or objection should either be presented in Sub-Divisional Office (Election) or to the Booth Level Officer in your respective polling station or sent by post to the office address so as to reach the office not later than the aforesaid date.
Meanwhile in West Garo Hills, the Electoral Registration Officer, West Garo Hills, Tura informed that the Draft Photo Electoral Rolls has been prepared for Phulbari, Rajabala, Selsella, North Tura, South Tura, Rangsakona, Gambegre and Dalu Legislative Assembly Constituencies under West Garo Hills district and a copy thereof is available for inspection at the office of the Deputy Commissioner’s office and at each polling station during office hours.
The qualifying date for the preparation of the photo electoral roll is January 1, 2025.
If, with reference to the above said qualifying date, there be any claim for the inclusion of a name in the photo electoral roll or any objections to the inclusion of names or any objections to particulars in any entries, it should be lodged between the period of October 29 to November 28 in form 6, 7 and 8 as may be appropriate.
Further, as an eligible citizen, who is going to attain the age of eighteen years on any of the subsequent qualifying dates in the 2024, that is to say, April 1, 2024, July 1, 2024, or October 1, 2024, may also file his or her claim for inclusion of his or her name in the roll, in Form-6 in advance, starting from the date of notice, and the same shall be considered and decided in the respective quarter of the year with reference to the respective qualifying date.
Every such claim or objection should either be presented in the Deputy Commissioner (Election) office not later than the aforesaid date or to the Booth Level Officer in your respective polling station or sent by post to the office address so as to reach the office not later than the aforesaid date.
