Star line-up changed in Cherry Blossom Fest

Shillong, Nov 2: Akon, the key attraction of the two-day Cherry Blossom Festival from November 15, will take the stage on the inaugural day, announced the organisers citing “unforeseen adjustments” in the Senegalese-American singer’s Asia tour schedule.

Subsequently, Grammy-winning pop group Clean Bandit will take over as headliners on November 16. “This will be Clean Bandit’s debut performance in India, and their presence is expected to elevate the festival experience significantly,” according to a statement.

However, ticket holders can attend the event without any increase in ticket prices, it said.

“Anticipation for this year’s festival has never been higher, and the organisers are confident that this change will lead to an unforgettable celebration of music and culture,” added the statement.
