6-hour shutdown for 6 days from 9 am every day
Shillong, Nov 4: Parts of the state capital Shillong will be without power for six hours during daytime for six days from November 4 due to construction of a new 33KV feeder line at Mawlyndep.
The shutdown will take place from 9 am to 3 pm in parts till November 9, according to a notification issued by the Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Limited (MePDCL).
The areas to be affected by construction of the 33KV feeder line include – MES Assam Regimental Centre, Assam Rifles Office Complex, Assam Rifles Residential, MES Hospital, PGCIL, NERPC, NERLDC, Anthropological Survey of India, whole of Happy Valley, Mawshbuit, Madanrting, Wahrynthi, Laitkor Wahkdait and its adjoining areas.
The areas to be affected by construction of the 33KV Lad Smit feeder line are DGAR, Umphynai, Sohryngkham, Mawryngkneng, Mawlyndep, Puriang, Smit, Nongkrem, Thangsning, Jongsha, Mawkynrew, Kharang and its adjoining areas.
The MePDCL assured that efforts will be made to complete the work in time.
