Election team seizes Rs 58,000 from Trinamool vehicle

TURA, Nov 12: Flying squad teams deputed by the Election Commission have seized money to the tune of over fifty-eight thousand rupees from a Bolero vehicle allegedly used by the All India Trinamool Congress party during random checking in Kherapara area on the eve of polling for the Gambegre constituency.

Election officials inform that FST teams on patrol duty in the Kherapara-Rimrangpara road stopped a Bolero vehicle heading towards Gambegre shortly around 8 in the night.

From the vehicle they found several bundles of cash in the denomination of Rs 500 and other change amounting to Rs 58,000/-. Three men in the vehicle, alleged to be working for the Trinamool Congress have been detained for questioning.

“The vehicle was heading towards Rimrangpara area of Gambegre and the occupants couldn’t provide any details about the cash. So our team has seized the money” informed an election official.

The Trinamool Congress has fielded sitting GHADC MDC Sadhiarani M Sangma, sister-in-law of TMC leader Mukul Sangma, for the Gambegre contest.
