US embassy delegation visits Kokrajhar, calls on BTC chief

Guwahati, Nov 20: A high-level delegation from the US Embassy in New Delhi, led by Graham Mayer, Minister-Counsellor for Political Affairs, met with Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Chief Pramod Boro in Kokrajhar during a two-day visit to the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) on Tuesday. The delegation included A. Sukesh, Senior Political Advisor; Dan Robbins, Political Officer; and Tinku Roy, Political Consultant.

Key discussions focused on fostering collaborations in the health and education sectors to support the region’s development. This visit underscores growing interest in strengthening ties between the United States and the BTR to promote socio-economic advancement.
BTC Chief Pramod Boro welcomed the delegation, emphasizing the potential for meaningful partnerships. “Their insights and discussions promise to foster meaningful partnerships for the region’s growth and progress,” he remarked.

The delegation also engaged with local stakeholders and toured key initiatives, including the mini spun mill and the Bodoland Silk Park Adabari. These visits provided a firsthand look at BTR’s priorities and reinforced the BTC’s commitment to sustainable development through international collaboration.
