Bypolls in Assam, BJP leading 3, one each Cong, UPPL and AGP

Guwahati, Nov 23: BJP is leading in three seats- Bihali, and Dholai while its allies UPPL and AGP are leading on seat each in Sidli and Bongaigaon constituencies as the counting of EVM is going on in five seats. The by election was conducted in five assembly seats in Assam on November 13. In Sidli (ST) constituency, UPPL candidate Nirmal Kumar Brahma is leading till 11th round.

UPPL candidate Nirmal Kumar Brahma secured 63,183 votes, BPF candidate Suddho Kumar Basumatary 36,945 and Congress candidate Sanjib Wary secured 2,366 votes.
In Bihali constituency, BJP candidate Diganta Ghatowal is leading till 12th round of counting. He secured 47,689 votes, Congress candidate Jayanta Borah 39190 and CPI9ML candndate Lakhikanta Kurmi secured 4,939 votes.

In Samaguri constituency, Congress candidate is leading with 34,245 votes while BJP candidate Dipli Ranjan Sarma is trailing with 34,169 votes till sixth round.
In Dholai constituency, BJP candidate Nihar Ranjan Das is leading 5,034 votes. Das secured 29,100 votes while his rival Congress candidate Dhruba Jyoti Purkaayastha secured 24,066 votes till sixth rounds.

In Bongaigaon constituency, AGP candidate Diptimoyee Choudhury in leading in 19,487 votes. Choudhury secured 48,363 votes while her nearest rival Congress candidate Brajenjit Sinha secured 28,876 votes.
