Assam CM invites PM Modi to attend Assam Investor and Infrastructure Summit

Guwahati, Dec 2: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will grace the Assam Investor and Infrastructure Summit (Advantage Assam 2.0) and a Mega Jhumur Performance as the chief guest in Guwahati on February 24–25, 2025.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma extended the invitation during a 25-minute meeting with the Prime Minister at the Parliament House in New Delhi on Monday.
PM Modi readily accepted the invitation, underscoring his support for the state’s developmental ambitions.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Sarma provided the Prime Minister with an overview of Assam’s ongoing development initiatives and sought his guidance on several strategic issues.

Sharing the interaction on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Sarma wrote: “Today in New Delhi, I had the privilege to receive Adarniya Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji’s guidance on various developmental issues. On behalf of the people of Assam, I also had the pleasure to invite him to bless the Assam Investor & Infrastructure Summit and Mega Jhumur performance in February 2025, which he has kindly accepted to grace.”

The upcoming summit, scheduled for February 24–25, 2025, aims to showcase Assam as a hub for investment and infrastructure development. It will bring together domestic and international delegates, industry leaders, and policymakers to explore opportunities in the state’s burgeoning economic sectors.

A key attraction of the event will be the Mega Jhumur Performance, a cultural spectacle featuring 7,500 artists from 800 tea estates across Assam, celebrating the state’s vibrant heritage and tea community’s cultural contributions.

Advantage Assam 2.0, which is organized after six years of the first edition of Advantage Assam in 2018, builds on the success of its predecessor, which highlighted the state’s potential as a gateway to Southeast Asia. The summit aligns with Assam’s broader vision of fostering sustainable development, attracting investments, and boosting cultural diplomacy.
