BSF foils smuggling attempt along EKH border

Shillong, Jan 6: Border Security Force personnel in Meghalaya seized contraband worth Rs 28 lakh from the bordering area of East Khasi Hills on Saturday.

BSF troops thwarted the major smuggling attempt while apprehending one Indian national and seizing four trucks loaded with contraband worth Rs 28 lakh. 

The confiscated items included zeera, liquor, tea, fish, dry fish, soap, garlic, panipuri, blankets, and other goods intended for smuggling into Bangladesh.
