Guv lauds efforts of ICAR NEH

Shillong, Jan 10: Governor CH Vijayashankar on Thursday appreciated the relentless efforts of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research for North Eastern Hill Region located at Umiam in Ri Bhoi.

The Governor was attending the golden jubilee celebration to mark 50 years of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) for North Eastern Hill Region (NEH)’s dedicated service in transforming agriculture and allied sectors in the northeastern region

In his address, the Governor also highlighted the importance of numerous schemes run by the central government for the welfare of farmers.

He emphasized the importance of integrating traditional farming practices with modern technologies to ensure sustainable growth and to promote organic farming and horticulture development in the region.
