Inter-state youth exchange event ends

Shillong, Feb 21: The 5-day Inter-State Youth Exchange Programme concluded on Thursday at the Youth Hostel Shillong.

Organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra Shillong and attended by participants from Mizoram, the event successfully brought together youth from diverse backgrounds, fostering mutual respect and cultural understanding, and contributing to the spirit of national integration.

The combination of physical activities such as yoga, intellectual engagement through language learning and expert sessions, and cultural exchange through historical site visits and performances created a well-rounded experience for all the attendees.

Gracing the event as the chief guest on the closing day, Sibhi Chakravarthy, Director of Community and Rural Development praised the organiser for holding such programmes, noting that they provide valuable opportunities for the youth to experience and understand the culture and way of life of other communities.

The chief guest also emphasised on unity in diversity and the importance of such programs in fostering a deeper understanding between different communities across India. He also encouraged the youth to explore themselves and make the most of the opportunities presented by such exchange programs to understand the differences and similarities between the states.
