Guwahati, April 27: In the wake of the brutal killing of 26 tourists by Pakistani militants in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the All Assam Minority Students Union (AAMSU) has announced its full support to the Union government.
In a statement issued on Saturday, AAMSU president Rejaul Karim Sarkar and general secretary Minnatul Islam said the organisation has suspended all its planned protests against the Waqf Amendment Bill during this national crisis. “The next schedule for the protest programme will be announced later,” they said.

Condemning the terror attack, AAMSU described the incident as a gruesome act that cannot be tolerated on Indian soil. The student body urged all political parties and organizations to put aside differences and stand united behind the Union government, prioritizing national interest over politics.
“This is the right time for India to give a fitting reply to Pakistan,” the statement read. It also called on the government to take strict action not only against terrorists but also against those within the country who express support for Pakistan during this sensitive period.
