Shillong, July 2: Three persons recently arrested from Madhya Pradesh for destruction of evidence in the sensational murder of Indore-based Raja Raghuvanshi, have been remanded by a local court in judicial custody.
They were produced in the court on Wednesday following expiry of their seven days’ police custody.

“The investigating officer (IO) has prayed for 14 days’ judicial custody. After hearing at length, the court has remanded Shilom James in 14 days’ judicial custody and other two accused persons – Lokendra Singh Tomar and Balia Ahirwar – in seven days’ custody,” assistant public prosecutor Tushar Chanda told reporters.
Shilom James is a property dealer who rented out a flat to Vishal Singh Chauhan, one of the accused in the case. Gwalior-based Lokendra Singh Tomar owns a flat where Raja’s wife Sonam had taken shelter while hiding in Indore and Balia Ahirwar worked as security guard of the apartment.
