Girl injected with unknown substance

Shillong, Aug 18: In a strange kind of attack, two youth forcibly injected unknown substance into a 16-year-old girl before fleeing the scene at Jaiaw in the city on Monday.

According to the victim’s mother, her daughter was stopped by the two youth on a scooty, parked near Bible Society office close to Students’ Field, Jaiaw around 2 pm when she was walking to the school.

The miscreants with their faces covered injected her on the left arm and immediately sped away.

She was first rushed to a dispensary at Jaiaw Langsning, but there was no doctor available.

She is currently under treatment in Dr H Gordon Roberts Hospital.

Doctors are awaiting test results to determine the nature of the substance used in the injection, the mother said.
