Shillong, Sept 12: The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Meghalaya, will host a public demonstration of practical 5G use cases on September 23, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The event will be held as part of the project titled “Deepening of Scientific Research on 5G Use Cases for Solving Challenges of Society.”
Funded by the North Eastern Council (NEC) under the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER), the project is being implemented by the North Eastern Regional Community Resource Management Society (NERCORMS) in collaboration with Amantya Technologies.
The demonstration will feature live presentations of prototypes and working solutions developed by students, startups, and innovators in NEHU’s 5G lab—one of the first such labs in India. The event aims to showcase how 5G technology can be applied to address real-world challenges and foster innovation in the region.
Organisers said the programme will highlight hands-on learning, early-stage product development, and practical applications of 5G. Attendees will get an opportunity to interact with the teams and observe how conceptual ideas are developed into tested solutions.
The event is open to the public, including students, researchers, and anyone interested in technological innovation for societal benefit.
