Man arrested over obscene act in public

Shillong, Oct 26: A person was arrested from Mawsynram for allegedly committing sexual harassment and stalking in public places around Laitumkhrah in Shillong.

The accused identified as Tamdorlang Risaw (42) was booked months after his performing obscene acts in public view, causing distress to those present, in May this year.

The police acted on two FIRs lodged on October 15 in this connection and launched a coordinated operation to trace and apprehend the accused.

The accused, a resident of Nongrah Block-II, was arrested from Tawang, Mawsynram, and the Bolero (ML05P 7884) used in the offences was seized, East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem said.

He will be produced before the competent court for further legal proceedings, he added.
