USTM dedicates research fellowship to Zubeen Garg

Shillong, Nov 1: The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) has introduced a research fellowship dedicated to iconic singer Zubeen Garg.

The fellowship was introduced in honour of the life, artistic contributions, and humanitarian philosophy of the late cultural icon of Assam.

“The University fondly remembers his visits to the campus for film shoots including scenes from several of his acclaimed works, including parts of his last film, Roi Roi Binale,” stated a press release.

USTM is also proud to have conferred upon him the Honorary Doctorate (Honoris Causa) during its 10th Convocation, it said.

To ensure academic and cultural depth, USTM is also in the process of forming an Advisory Council to progress of the research outcomes, it added.
