Meghalaya’s Raj Bhavan renamed Lok Bhavan

Shillong, Dec 4: The Raj Bhavan in Shillong has been officially renamed as Lok Bhavan, following a directive from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and the Governor of Meghalaya.

A notification issued by the Governor’s Secretariat on Thursday states that the change comes into effect immediately, and all references to the Raj Bhavan should now read Lok Bhavan.

“Raj Bhavan, Shillong shall henceforth be referred to only as Lok Bhavan, Shillong,” Principal Secretary to the Governor HC Chaudhary said in the notification.
