Shillong, Dec 8:The Presbyterian Today International Network (PTIN) has adopted Kamsing village in West Jaintia Hills District as a Free Education Village in India.
The adoption ceremony was held on December 6, 2025, in the presence of Advocate and President of the Presbyterian Today International Network Daniel Stone Lyngdoh.
The village, located in a remote area bordering India and Bangladesh, faces challenges in accessing education due to its isolated location and limited transportation options, with residents relying on river travel by boat throughout the year.
Lyngdoh stated that the primary objective of adopting the village is to promote education and uplift the community.
“Education will help the children of this village feel at home and shape their future despite many challenges,” he said.
The adoption of Kamsing village as a free education village aims to provide educational opportunities to the local children and improve the overall development of the community. The initiative is expected to bring positive change to the village and its people.
The ceremony was attended by Daman Lakashiang, Doloi of Elaka Satpator, Augustin Pamblang, Wahehshnong of Kamsing village, and other dignitaries.
