UDP ready to take on challenges, says party leader

Shillong, Dec 17: UDP leader and Khliehriat legislator Kyrmen Shylla on Wednesday expressed his party’s unwavering confidence in emerging victorious in the upcoming elections.

“We are preparing ourselves and are ready to face the challenge. I firmly believe that UDP will come out with flying colors,” Shylla said, emphasizing the party’s determination to succeed.

According to Shylla, the party’s performance will be the ultimate indicator of its growth or decline. “The result will tell everything. We are on the process, preparing ourselves, and we are ready to fight,” he added.

Shylla stressed the importance of public support, stating, “We need the people to understand that most of the time, they expect UDP to perform, but for performing, we need a number. So, we request the people of Meghalaya to give us a number so that we can perform ourselves, and if we don’t perform, the people can blame us, and we will also accept it.”

The UDP leader also addressed the issue of threats, saying, “Being a threat or being threatened by anyone, once you enter politics, and all parties have their own strategy, we should not take it lightly. Our duty is to prepare ourselves, and in preparing ourselves, it might be a threat to others also.”

Shylla concluded by expressing his party’s aspirations, “We expect that people will give us the chance someday. If people can give the party the chance to lead the government, we will prove ourselves.”
