NEHUNSA disputes former Pro VC’s claims

Shillong, Dec 17: The North Eastern Hill University Non-Teaching Staff Association (NEHUNSA) has disputed claims of achievements made by Prof S Umdor, who resigned as Pro Vice-Chancellor of the university.

“We are in a state of shock and disarray about the achievements claimed by the former Pro Vice-Chancellor, wherein it was stated that under his tenure the august office has accomplished major task which includes the Promotion of the Non-Teaching employees through Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC),” NEHUNSA said in a statement on Wednesday.

No non-teaching employee of NEHU has received promotion as claimed by Prof Umdor, said NEHUNSA.

Promotion of the non-teaching staff is one of NEHUNSA’s key agenda brought forth to NEHU authorities.

Disputing his claim of finalisation of advertisement for recruiting non-teaching employees, NEHUNSA said the previous advertisement has lapsed and is yet to be cancelled and that the association was never informed about any finalisation of such advertisement.
