Curfew Relaxed for Two Hours in West Garo Hills to Facilitate Purchase of Essential Commodities

Tura, March 12: The District Magistrate of West Garo Hills has issued a notification relaxing the curfew for two hours on March 12, 2026, to enable residents to procure essential commodities and ration items.

As per the order, the curfew will be temporarily relaxed from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM across the district. During this period, the general public may step out to purchase ration, food items, medicines and other essential goods.

The relaxation has been granted to ensure that residents are able to meet their essential needs while the curfew remains in force in view of the prevailing law and order situation.

The District Administration has urged the public to strictly adhere to the permitted time window and maintain peace and discipline. Citizens have also been requested to return to their homes before the curfew resumes at 4:00 PM.
