Tura, Aug 8: Superintendent of Police of West Garo Hills, Abraham T Sangma, has been promoted to the Indian Police Service (IPS) rank along with Special Force-10 Commandant Bashan Laloo.
A notification from the centre announced the promotion of the two Meghalaya Police Service Officers to the IPS rank.
While Laloo had served as SP of South West Khasi Hills (Mawkyrwat) and Nongstoin, Abraham has been SP of South Garo Hills, North Garo Hills and is currently SP of West Garo Hills.
