Shillong, April 11: The Garobadha Police Investigation Centre (PIC) in South West Garo Hills district has been upgraded to a Police Out Post, in a bid to improving public convenience and administration in the region.
Meanwhile, the administrative control of Purakhasia Police Out Post has also been brought under South West Garo Hills from erstwhile West Garo Hills district.
Thus, both the police units – Garobadha PIC and Purakhasia OP – have been taken over from West Garo Hills and merged with South West Garo Hills, according to a statement issued by SWGH Superintendent of Police Vikash Varma on Saturday.
Following the reassignment, Garobadha OP will fall under the jurisdiction of Damalgre Police Station while Purakhasia PP will come under Salmanpara Police Station.
