Shillong, Aug 12: The Hima Mylliem has taken down the stall number and names of owners who are continuing to defy its order prohibiting overnight stay at Iewduh.
Such shops are likely to be closed down if they fail to comply with the order and a report will also be submitted to the Syiem, in-charge Thanat Hima Mylliem Sainbor Nongkhlaw warned.
Expressing concern after seeing reports showing NGOs detecting people violating the order during their checking, the Hima said necessary order in will be taken against those individuals breaking the rule.
Speaking to reporters, Nongkhlaw said that the Hima had already issued a clear-cut order disallowing people from residing in Iewduh market.
“In view of this, we have decided to take stern action against those violating the order. We have taken the stall number and names of the owners and the Syiem will issue necessary order in this regard,” he said.
The in-charge also took notice of godowns being turned into places for gambling at night. He assured that the office of the Hima Mylliem will be working together with NGOs to ensure safety and security of Iewduh.
