Shillong, July 23: Two girls aged 11 years and 13 years were found safe in Shillong after they had gone missing from their village in South West Khasi Hills district, police said.
The girls hailing from Tlongpleng in Balat area boarded a bus intending to travel to Mawsynram. However, they landed up in Shillong, where they got down at Anjali Point before boarding a bus to Nongrah, SP (City) Dangaan Khyriem told reporters on Wednesday.
They later reached the residence of their relatives at Nongrah, the SP said.
Later, the relatives brought the girls to Rynjah Police Station.
Police have recorded their statements to ascertain how they travelled to Shillong.
The SP said both the girls are safe and unharmed.
“They are safe. There are no injuries or any other issues. They are currently with their relatives at Rynjah Police Station while the required formalities are being completed,” he informed.
