New Delhi, Aug 23: A coffee-table book by a senior law ministry official tracing the tiger’s 5,000-year role across India’s civilisational, cultural and ecological history has been launched by Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal.
Titled “Sacred Tiger Tales — From Vedic Hymns to Tryst with Stripes”, the 248-page work has been authored and photographed by Additional Secretary, Ministry of Law and Justice, Manoj Kumar, who is also a member of the National Tiger Conservation Authority.
The book was unveiled by Meghwal alongside Attorney General R Venkataramani here on Saturday.
The volume gathers 82 literary short narratives across nine detailed chapters. It charts the presence of the big cat across major eras, including the Vedic and Epic periods. (PTI)
