Shillong, Sept 24: Three persons were convicted by a court in connection with a 2024 narcotics case and sentenced to four years of rigorous imprisonment.
Superintendent of Police (Traffic), East Khasi Hills, Hari Prasanth MR said in a statement on Thursday that Special Judge (NDPS), East Khasi Hills, E Shabong convicted Dinald Syndor, Kitboklang Thawbri and Ryngkatlang Kharbuli on September 15 in connection with a case registered at Mawlai Police Station.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 40,000 on each convict under the NDPS Act.
In default of payment of the fine, they will have to undergo an additional three months of rigorous imprisonment.
The investigation was carried out by SI Iaishah Ksoo, who is now posted in West Jaintia Hills.
