SHILLONG, AUG 27: Deputy Chief Minister in-charge PWD Prestone Tynsong on Tuesday informed the Assembly that a survey is being conducted for construction of Madan Pohkseh-Lakasein road.
Responding to UDP legislator from Mookaiaw Nujorki Sungoh who urged the state government to speed up sanctioning of funds for construction of the road, Tynsong said a detailed project report will be prepared once negotiation with the landowners concludes and gift deeds are signed.
Sungoh informed the Assembly that road connectivity is necessary to improve the economic activities of people from the two districts of East Jaintia Hills and West Jaintia Hills.
“I request the government to kindly speed up sanctioning of the road as it will improve the economic activities of both the districts. Economic activities of the people will be lifted,” Sungoh said in the Assembly.
