Ajmal’s SOS to PM Modi, End violence in Manipur

Guwahati, Nov 18: Former Lok Sabha MP and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) supremo, Maulana Badruddin Ajmal, on Monday wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking his intervention to end the violence in Manipur.
In the letter, Ajmal expressed grave concern over the ongoing unrest in the state, which has led to immense suffering, loss of life, and widespread displacement.

Ajmal wrote, “I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the ongoing violence and unrest in Manipur, which has been causing immense suffering to the citizens, destabilizing the region, and putting the lives and property of the people at grave risk. As the situation has escalated to alarming levels, I urge you to take immediate and decisive action to bring an end to this violence.”

He highlighted the devastating impact of the conflict, stating, “It is deeply distressing to witness the loss of life, destruction of property, and displacement of countless innocent citizens in the state. Families have been torn apart, livelihoods shattered, and communities left in a state of fear and insecurity.”

Ajmal criticized the state government’s handling of the situation, citing its failure to maintain law and order, protect citizens, and restore peace. He called for urgent and decisive measures from the central government to address the crisis and ensure the safety and well-being of Manipur’s residents.

In his letter, Ajmal urged the central government to take all necessary measures to restore peace and stability in Manipur. Ajmal emphasized the deployment of adequate security forces to safeguard the lives and properties of citizens as an immediate priority.

He further recommended extending financial aid and humanitarian support to the affected communities. This includes compensation for the families of the deceased and injured, as well as support for rebuilding efforts for those who have lost their homes. Ajmal underscored the importance of ensuring these communities receive the assistance needed to recover from the devastation.

Ajmal also advocated for initiating dialogue with all parties involved in the violence to address grievances and find common ground for a lasting resolution. He stressed the importance of fostering understanding and cooperation to bring sustainable peace to the region.

Moreover, Ajmal called for accountability from the state government and its officials for their inability to prevent the violence. He proposed an impartial investigation to identify any lapses or negligence in handling the crisis, urging lawful action against those responsible. His recommendations aim to address both the immediate and long-term needs of Manipur, focusing on relief, reconciliation, and accountability.
