Ampati Government Higher Secondary School wins district-level science  exhibition

Shillong, Dec 11: Nogrim G. Momin, Class IX student from Ampati Government Higher Secondary School was declared the winner of the District Level Science, Mathematics, and Environment Exhibition for Children 2024-2025 held at Ampati on Tuesday. 

Tanbeer Mehtab, Class VIII student from Harishanti Niketan Vidyalaya Secondary School was awarded the 2nd prize while Riddhima Hajong, Class VIII student from St Claret Higher Secondary School, Ampati was awarded the 3rd prize.

The winners will represent South West Garo Hills at the state-level science exhibition to be held in Shillong, where they will compete with participants from across Meghalaya.  

A total of eight schools from across the district participated in the exhibition, showcasing innovative projects that demonstrated creativity and scientific acumen.  

With the theme “Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future,” the exhibition was organised by the District School Education Officer (DSEO), South West Garo Hills, Ampati, to encourage young minds to explore innovative ideas and sustainable solutions for the future.  

The event was graced by Chingky G. Momin, In-charge Principal of Ampati Government Higher Secondary School, South West Garo Hills, who attended as the chief guest while T.Ch. Marak, School Education Officer (SEO) presided over the function.  

The exhibition provided an excellent platform for students to showcase their talents and ingenuity in addressing global and local challenges through scientific and technological solutions.
