Tura, Oct 17: Continued efforts of Garo Hills police in their quest to curb the menace of drug trafficking and abuse in the district are giving results with regular seizures- the latest being arrest of a peddler and confiscation of narcotics from the plain belt region of the district.

The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of West Garo Hills conducted a successful operation leading to the recovery of prohibited psychotropic substances and the arrest of one individual during a raid on 15th October, 2025 at Bangalkata village under Phulbari Police Station jurisdiction. During the house search of one Shri Khan Bahadur, prohibited psychotropic substances suspected to be Tramadol Hydrochloride, Dicyclomine Hydrochloride & Acetaminophen Capsules (brands SENSPAS and SEMPLX) were recovered from different location of the house. A total of 171 capsules (net weight 8.55 grams) were seized along with cash, suspected to be the proceeds of crime, and one mobile handset. In connection with this recovery, Khan Bahadur (38 years), was arrested and a case has been registered at Phulbari Police Station.
