Jowai, January 25: With last two days of the 6th Meghalaya Games 2025 remaining, incredible display of strength and determination is being witnessed, as athletes compete in different competitions and the final medal rounds. In the Arm-Wrestling Championship,held today, multiple such exciting bouts came up.
In the Women’s 50kg (Below) category, Anisha Jyrwa of East Khasi Hills District (EKHD) clinched the Gold medal, with Melinda Mawlong and Milarita L. Nongbri, also from EKHD, securing Silver and Bronze, respectively. The Women’s 60kg (Below)category saw Monica Syntem from West Jaintia Hills District (WJHD) emerge victorious with Gold, while Doris Wanniang of West Khasi Hills District (WKHD) and Parkles T. Lyngkhei of EKHD followed closely with Silver and Bronze.
Iaryngkatdor Kurkalang of EKHD bagged Silver in the Women’s 60kg Above category, but it was Shanborlang Marngar from WKHD who took home Gold, leaving Larishisha Kharbani from WKHD with Bronze.
In the Men’s categories, Frankystar Mawlieh of WKHD secured Silver in the 55kg Below division, but the highlight was Roderick Pou Leong Lyngdoh of EKHD with Bronze. Nangapjingbha Nongrum from EKHD dominated the Men’s 65kg Below category, winning Gold, while Donnam Kharkongor of EKHD earned Silver and Dapkmenlang Lyngdoh from South West Khasi Hills District (SWKHD) took Bronze.
The Men’s 75kg Below category featured stellar performances, with Mebansan Sangma from SWKHD taking Gold, Hamelasiewdor Diengdoh of East West Khasi Hills District (EWKHD) earning Bronze, and others showcasing incredible talent. In the Men’s 75kg Above division, Pyngkupborlang Iawphniaw and Pynshailang Narlong from Ri Bhoi District (RBD) secured Bronze and Silver, respectively.
