Assam aiming for digital transformation: Keshab Mahanta at Digital Transformation Conclave

Guwahati, Dec 14: Assam Minister of Revenue and Information Technology, Keshab Mahanta, highlighted the state government’s commitment to establishing Assam as a digitally advanced society and a knowledge-driven economy.

Addressing the 15th Digital Transformation Conclave, organized by Ilog Media in collaboration with the state’s IT department, Mahanta said digital systems are rapidly becoming the backbone of modern economies globally. He emphasized that sustainable and inclusive development now relies heavily on IT-driven innovations.

He said the government aims to surpass traditional developmental approaches by leveraging digital technologies.

“By the end of December, the number of services available on the portal is expected to exceed 800,” e said.

Projects like Mission Basundhara address land-related issues effectively. Integration of Aadhaar authentication facilitates e-KYC services for residents.

“Under the visionary leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, India has made significant strides in technological and digital transformation over the past decade. We’re proud to be part of this journey and continue our efforts to make Assam a digital hub and a leading state in the field of IT under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma,” he added.

The conclave brought together officials from the Central government, representatives from various state governments, and leaders from the IT and digital sectors, including Special Chief Secretary (IT) Syed Abbasi, Chief Electoral Officer (CEI) Anurag Goel, Special Secretary and Director IT Electronics & Communications Pavan Kumar, Director, Direct Benefit Transfer Devendra Kumar, Deloitte India executive: Amit Singh and Alliance Ilog media executive Fahim Haque.

The conclave provided a platform for discussions on the role of digital technology in transforming governance and enabling socio-economic growth.
