Assam BJP launches month-long campaign marking 11 years of Modi Govt: From ‘sankalp to sidhi’

Guwahati, June 9: The Bharatiya Janata Party, Assam Pradesh, has launched a month-long campaign titled “11 Years of Modi Government: From “Sankalp to Sidhi” to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 11 years in office. The announcement was made by BJP chief spokesperson Manoj Barua through an official statement released on Sunday.

The campaign will highlight the major achievements of the Modi-led government, covering key sectors such as poverty alleviation, women’s empowerment, and scientific advancement, including landmark missions in space exploration. Among the social welfare highlights is “Operation Sindoor,” an initiative the party credits with promoting women’s safety and dignity.

Despite the celebrations, the BJP acknowledged the ongoing flood crisis in various parts of Assam. The party assured that relief and rehabilitation for flood-affected areas would be prioritized. Campaign activities will begin in non-affected districts and gradually expand to other regions as conditions improve.

The programme includes a series of events throughout June. On June 10 and 11, press conferences will be held across the state, featuring ministers, MPs, and MLAs. From June 10 to 20, all districts are expected to host interactive sessions with professionals, beneficiaries, and stakeholders to discuss the impact of central welfare schemes and developmental progress.

Public enrollment camps will also be organized in every assembly constituency during this period to facilitate citizen registration under central schemes. Special focus will be given to enrolling senior citizens under the ‘Vaya Vandhana Ayushman Bharat Yojana’ through door-to-door outreach.

On June 10, exhibitions showcasing key milestones of the Modi government will be inaugurated at the party’s state headquarters and all district offices. These exhibitions will be open to the general public. In the run-up to International Yoga Day on June 21, yoga training camps will be conducted at the Mandal level from June 15 to 20.

Between June 16 and 20, community meetings known as Chaupal Baithaks will be organized at every Shakti Kendra to inform citizens about the government’s journey over the past 11 years. The party has also reported that a mass tree plantation drive titled “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” was launched on June 5 to mark World Environment Day, with participation from elected representatives, party workers, and NGOs.

On June 23, the BJP will observe Martyrs’ Day at all booths to commemorate the 60th death anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee. Additionally, the party will hold public meetings and seminars in all districts to reflect on the 50th anniversary of the Emergency declared by the Congress government in 1975, which it described as a dark chapter in India’s democratic history. The BJP has also directed its units to honor individuals who resisted the Emergency as “Defenders of Democracy.”

The campaign will be executed at multiple levels. Central ministers and national leaders will oversee activities in major cities, state ministers and MPs will lead efforts at the district level, and local representatives will coordinate at the Mandal and Shakti Kendra levels.

According to the party, the campaign aims not only to celebrate the accomplishments of the Modi government over the past 11 years but also to reinforce its commitment to a self-reliant, inclusive, and developed India.
