Assam drug peddlers arrested in Garo Hills

Tura, July 21: Three men carrying narcotic substances and hailing from Assam have been arrested from the plain belt town of Phulbari in West Garo Hills on Sunday morning by a team of Anti Narcotic Task Force from the district police.

The trio hailing from Guwahati have been identified as Rochan Ali (24 years), Rofikul Rahman (31) and Abhijit Rabha (24), all belonging to localities under Paltan Bazar police station jurisdiction.

The men were taking shelter inside their rented house at Phulbari when it was raided by the ANTF. From their possession the team recovered prohibited contraband suspected to be Heroin, net weight about 95.78 grams, along with cash amounting to Rs. 1,53,570/- , two I-Phones, empty vials and other incriminating material.
