Assam has over 24.6 lakh registered investors in NSE

Guwahati, Feb 5: Assam is making significant strides in India’s investment landscape, with over 24.6 lakh registered investors, as stated by the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) and National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL).

Highlighting this growth, officials noted that 29.8% of investors in Assam are women, placing the state fifth in female investor participation across India. The investor growth rate in Assam tripled from 0.7% in 2019 to 2.3% in 2024.

“We are committed to supporting this growth by ensuring education, awareness, trust, transparency, and protection in the securities market,” said an official from NSE and NSDL.

To further promote investor awareness and protect investor interests, NSE and NSDL, under the aegis of SEBI and in collaboration with other Market Infrastructure Institutions (MIIs), organized a Mega RISA (Regional Investor Seminar for Awareness) in Guwahati.

The seminar, titled “Viksit Bharat ka Viksit Niveshak,” aimed to educate investors on securities markets, fraud prevention, rights and responsibilities, and smart investment strategies Aradhana Verma, General Manager of SEBI, attended the event.
