Despite multiple arrests of Bangla nationals illegally crossing into India through the Garo Hills border in the last one year, there appears to be no end to infiltration.

Three Bangladeshi nationals, including a woman, were intercepted inside Garo Hills after they illegally crossed over the border on August 25th.

West Garo Hills police from Kherapara outpost detected the trio during identity checking of passengers from a public bus (ML08 D 8387) on Monday afternoon.

The arrested foreign nationals were identified as Smt. Sumi Rani Das (27 years), hailing from Sanamganj in Sylhet district of Bangladesh,  Ali Akbar (25) and Arif Sikdar (22) belonging to Potuakhali district, Bangladesh.

Feom their possession police recovered their mobile phones, Bangladesh passport and Bangladesh National identity cards.

The arrested foreign nationals confessed that they entered entered India on Sunday through the Indo-Bangla border and had planned to travel down south- to Tamil Nadu in search of work.
