BJP urges CM to ensure fairness in recruitments

Shillong, Oct 4:The state BJP on Thursday urged chief minister Conrad K Sangma to ensure transparency and fairness in the process of recruitment in government jobs in the state.

Referring to alleged anomalies in declaration of results of written examination for appointment of staff nurse and ANM, the BJP state general secretary Wankitbok Pohshna said, “The various anomalies in results declared by Meghalaya Medical Services Recruitment Board point to a deeper malaise.”

“(We) urge upon the CM of Meghalaya to intervene and ensure that the recruitment processes are conducted by fair means… wherein examinations are not rigged and results are not altered to benefit a few,” the BJP leader said in a statement.

“Recently the nation watched with horror the recruitment scam in West Bengal which has destroyed the lives of millions of people. Should we not stop Meghalaya from hurtling down that same devastating path?” Pohshna said.

He also criticised the government machinery involved in the recruitment process as having “callous attitude” and “utter incompetency”, jeopardizing the future of many young lives.
