Cattle seized, five held by BSF

Shillong, Mar 27: BSF troops posted near West Jaintia Hills border seized 22 cattle along with five Indian nationals on Tuesday.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs regarding the illegal stocking of cattle in a betel nut garden for further smuggling into Bangladesh, the troops launched an operation and apprehended the individuals.

Upon questioning, they failed to justify the possession and stocking of the cattle.

The seized cattle, along with the individuals, have been handed over to the Police Patrol Post Muktapur for further investigation and necessary legal action.
