Conference on mechanical engineering in city

Shillong, Nov 14: Over 100 delegates across the nation will be attending the mechanical engineering conference which will feature selected 97 technical presentations, in the city from Thursday.

The three-day ‘2nd International Conference on Recent Innovations and Developments in Mechanical Engineering (ICRIDME 2024)’ will be organised by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya at the State Convention Centre.

The 2nd ICRIDME 2024 serves as a premier platform for sharing the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and aims to foster discussions and exchanges on the latest research and developments across all areas of mechanical engineering. 

The full papers to be presented during the conference will be published in the Springer Proceedings, and selected papers will be considered for publication in some reputed international journals.

The event, which will see Prof Rakesh Sehgal, NIT Hamirpur, as the chief guest and Prof Sudipta De, Jadavpur University as the guest of honor, is set to bring together faculty members, researchers, students, practitioners, and technocrats from academia, government and non-government organisations, as well as industry professionals. 

Distinguished academicians will deliver plenary and keynote speeches, shedding light on emerging trends and significant advancements in cutting-edge technologies. The conference seeks to make a substantial contribution to the goals of diversification and sustainable development, focusing on the challenges faced by the North East.

The scope of ICRIDME 2024 is to offer a collaborative platform where researchers and engineers from various branches of mechanical engineering can share their research findings and propose innovative solutions for both current and future challenges.
