Shillong, Dec 31: Mobius Young Climate Leaders project, an initiative aimed at promoting education, economic, and environmental sustainability in the seven north-eastern states, was launched in the state by chief minister Conrad K Sangma on Tuesday.

“This project will provide a platform for young leaders to develop their skills and knowledge in sustainability, and to work together to address the pressing environmental and economic challenges facing our region,” said Sangma in his address while announcing the launch of the project as a year-end gift to the people of Meghalaya.

The project aims at promoting sustainable development and driving economic growth in North East is run by North East Leaders Connect (NELC) in collaboration with Möbius Foundation and University of Cambridge.

It also focusses on empowering young leaders to take action on sustainability and drive positive change in their communities.

“We are grateful to Möbius Foundation and University of Cambridge for their support in this initiative,” the chief minister said.

Launched in 2011 in Kohima, North East Leader Connect (NELC), earlier known as Young Leaders Connect, is a common platform for young leaders and achievers from the North-East.
