Countdown for Yoga Day 2025 kicks off at NEIAH

Shillong, Mar 22: A 91-day countdown programme for the 10th International Yoga Day 2025 has kicked off at North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homoeopathy (NEIAH), Shillong.

The NEIAH on Saturday launched the Yogotsav Countdown in collaboration with Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga with a one-hour yoga session participated by over 300 yoga enthusiasts, including NEIAH students, faculty, staff, patients and invited guests from CBI Shillong, NEIGRIHMS, etc.

NEIAH deputy director A Wanshai Shynret, College of Ayurveda principal Prof Vijay Kumar, CBI DIG Pramod Kumar Manjhi, and NEIGRIHMS Physiology head Dr Rituparna Barooah addressed the programme.

Simultaneously, the Yogotsav programme was also held at two NEIAH-adopted villages, Mawdiangdiang and Diengiong, on Saturday.

Besides, NEIAH NSS unit members visited Nongriat, known for its double decker bridge, in East Khasi Hills district on 20 March.

The faculty members and students conducted demonstrated yoga and conducted an awareness programme for the local community and visitors in the area.
