Decomposed body found near Williamnagar town

Tura, July 29: A highly decomposed body of a male has been recovered by police deep inside a rubber plantation on the outskirts of Williamnagar town in East Garo Hills on Tuesday.

According to Superintendent of Police S Rynjah, the body has been shifted to the Williamnagar civil hospital morgue for post mortem and remains to be identified.

The body, confirmed to be of an adult, was discovered inside the rubber plantation at Dawa Matchakolgre. It is not known if the victim was murdered or died of other causes.

SP Rynjah informed that forensic experts from FSL and teams from Crime Scene Unit (CSU) from the Directorate of Forensic Sciences, Shillong have conducted an examination of the body in the presence of a magistrate and medical officer.
