Depositing of licensed arms 

Shillong, Oct 18: With the announcement of bye-elections to Gambegre assembly constituency, the District Election Officer, West Garo Hills District has directed all the licensed holders of arms to deposit their licensed arms at the nearest police stations, outpost and beat houses with immediate effect until further orders.

 Further, the order also prohibits carrying of licensed arms with a view to maintain law and order and to ensure peaceful conduct of the bye-elections.

Therefore, any individual who desires to appeal this order may submit his or her written justification for retaining his or her licensed arms to the office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills, Tura within office hours.
