DREAM Mission Director leads delegation to Kerala

Learning exposure on rehabilitation and awareness

Shillong, Jan 28: The Mission Director of the Drug Reduction Elimination & Action Mission will be leading an 11-member delegation, comprising of experienced professionals, including rehabilitation experts, senior health officials including Jt Director of Health Services (MI), a Psychiatrist, and a Senior Medical & Health officer trained in Substance use Disorder, to Kerala on a three-day exposure visit.

During the three-day visit, the delegation will engage in interactive sessions with various stakeholders and experts from renowned rehabilitation centers.The team will also visit renowned hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and community-based programs to observe their approaches and methodologies firsthand.

The Mission Director emphasized that this initiative reflects DREAM’s commitment to learning and adopting best practices from across the country to address the challenges of substance abuse. The findings from this exposure trip will be instrumental in shaping Meghalaya’s policies and initiatives in the fight against drug misuse.

The visit aims to gain valuable insights into Kerala’s advanced rehabilitation methodologies, successful awareness campaigns, and collaborative police strategies in addressing substance abuse.
